Melissa Pigot

Melissa is an experienced clinical psychologist who has worked across a number of settings, including public and private hospitals, private psychology practices and research centres. Melissa currently works in both private practice and public health, with young adults and adults. She is committed to providing comprehensive, individualised care using evidence-based treatment approaches in a warm, pragmatic and collaborative manner. This approach ensures care is specifically tailored to individuals’ needs.

Melissa has experience in managing a broad range of presentations including depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes/transitions or illness, postnatal concerns, relationship and parenting difficulties, and work/study stress. However, she has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety-related difficulties (like generalised anxiety and social anxiety), obsessive-compulsive disorders and she has extensive experience working with people and families with a cancer experience.

Melissa primarily uses a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach, however, has training and experience in other evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
